Ethan Flanagan – Spring 2019
Music has been an important part of Ethan’s life since he was very young. He was excited to begin Suzuki piano lessons with Judy Johnson when he was five years old. A few years later, he learned to play the fiddle and continues to study Celtic fiddle with Cayley Schmid. In sixth grade, Ethan took up the clarinet so that he could play in the Fairhaven Middle School band under the direction of Morgan Schwab. He joined North Sound Youth Symphony as a clarinetist in seventh grade, making this his sixth year with NSYS. Ethan has also been studying piano with Judith Widrig since his sophomore year. Piano remains Ethan’s favorite instrument, and he is thankful for the opportunity to perform as a soloist this quarter with NSYS. Next year, he plans to study science in college while continuing to enjoy playing music.
