2026 Spring Soloist Zander Tran, Cello

Zander began his musical journey in the fourth grade, learning cello in group classes at the Bellingham Family Partnership Program. He went on to spend five years studying privately with William Fan before continuing to learn under his current teacher Coral Marchant. Over the past four years, he has performed with both Sehome High School Orchestra and North Sound Youth Symphony. He’s also participated in many performances through Bellingham Honors Orchestra, Washington State Solo and Ensemble competition, Bellingham Music Club, and National Association for Music Education (NAfME) All-State and All-Northwest Symphonies. This fall, he will attend the University of Washington to major in engineering, while continuing to pursue music through the school’s philharmonic orchestra.
